Five former schools in the east that have moved or been merged with other schools are set to be replaced by new homes.
Proposed amendments to the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) masterplan that were published on April 24 and May 7 showed that land occupied by the five schools have been earmarked for new homes.

The land parcel along Bedok North Street 3 is being proposed for rezoning from ‘Residential (Subject to Detailed Planning)’ to ‘Residential at GPR 2.5’ and ‘Health & Medical Care’.
The proposed amendment is to facilitate an upcoming residential development to support the demand for housing as well as improve residents’ accessibility to health and medical care amenities.

The land parcel at Tampines Street 11 is being proposed for rezoning from ‘Reserve Site’ to ‘Residential at GPR 2.0’, ‘Health & Medical Care’ and ‘Road’ to facilitate a residential development with complementary social community facilities, as well as a Health and Medical Care facility that will serve existing and future residents.

The land parcels at Pasir Ris Drive 3 and Pasir Ris Drive 10 are being proposed for the following amendments:
• From ‘Reserve Site’ to ‘Residential at GPR 3.2’
• From ‘Reserve Site’ to ‘Road’
• From ‘Residential at GPR 2.8’ to ‘Road’.
The proposed amendments are to facilitate future residential developments that will support the demand for housing.
