These are the major arterial road within a 10minutes drive of AMK, making it convenient to reach most parts of Singapore especially when the North-South Corridor fully opens in 2026.
Upper Thomson Road
The nearest main road will be Upper Thomson Road. This road will lead you to Thomson Plaza, Lornie Highway, Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) Bukit Timah Road if you travel south. To the north, it will lead to Lower Pierce Reservoir, Seletar Expressway (SLE), Sembawang Road, etc… It will only take a minute to reach AMK at the Upper Thomson Road and AMK Ave 1 Junction though it will take slightly longer vice versa as you need to do a U-turn.
Central Expressway (CTE)
To reach CTE, it will take about 10 minutes, depending on your luck with the traffic lights along AMK Ave 1. When the NS Corridor opens, it will free up time to travel from CTE to the Northern and city regions.
Residents of AMK have the option to choose two MRT stations to commute with. They are Mayflower and Bright Hill stations. Both stations are about 600m away ( or 10 minutes walk) though Mayflower is slightly nearer and easier to access. Both sit on the Thomson-East Coast (TEL, Brown Line) which eventually will have 32 stations and connect to eight different interchanges: East-West Line (EWL), North-South Line (NSL), North-East Line (NEL), Circle Line (CCL), Downtown Line (DTL) and the Cross Island Line (CRL) when fully operational in 2025 (project would have TOPed). Currently, TEL is at Stage 2 of 5 stages. Residents around Mayflower MRT station can travel up to Woodlands North and Caldecott to the south.
At this time if you take a train from Mayflower MRT station:
By 2025, TEL will enable you to travel to:

Known for the relaxed charm of its neighbourhoods, delicious hawker fare and vibrant town centre, Ang Mo Kio will be rejuvenated with new housing precincts and amenities, while preserving its current appeal.
The introduction of the Cross Island Line (CRL) and Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) will mean shorter commutes for residents to other parts of Singapore.
Located opposite the scenic Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, the future housing developments will enjoy easy access to Mayflower MRT station.
In addition to the TEL, Ang Mo Kio will be served by the CRL.
Two new stations along the CRL will benefit Ang Mo Kio residents:
Ang Mo Kio MRT station will be an interchange between the CRL and the North-South Line, while Teck Ghee station will offer direct connectivity to the much-loved Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and eastwards to Changi.
